Mark Anthony Barfield was born on August 6, 1955, to the union of Nathaniel Barfield, Sr., and Della Mae Barfield.

He graduated from Washington High School and attended Delta School of Business. After graduation, he attended the Lake Charles Police Academy and served on the Force for seventeen years. He was baptized into the Catholic faith at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Those left to carry on his legacy of love are his four daughters, Alexa (JeJuan) Doucet, Shermonical Benard, Wendy Benard and Lorealle Boutte all of Lake Charles, LA; four sisters, Pamela (Griffin) Edwards, Roslyn (John Oscar) Simien, Bridgette Levings, all of Lake Charles, LA and Natalie Barfield of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Lawrence (Carol) Barfield of Lake Charles, LA, and Nathaniel (Lucy) Barfield, Jr., of Monterey, LA; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reginald and Duncan Barfield and one son, Mark Anthony Lute.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., and funeral service at 3:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
