Marqueta Shantell Jackson, 36, departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. She was born June 2, 1987, to Frank James Tezeno and Shirley Marie Jackson in Lake Charles, LA.  She was a mortar to our family and was loved by many. From her loving spirit, to her good meals that warmed the heart and soul, to making sure she was the one who encouraged the family to stick together especially during the tough times. From her corny jokes that you couldn't do nothing but laugh at to her beautiful smile……she never missed a beat with putting a smile on the faces of others. She enjoyed cooking, having fun with the kids and visiting with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Deshawn Thompson; boyfriend, Jonathan Thompson, both of Lake Charles, LA; her father, Frank Tezeno, two brothers, Princeton "Big Red" Jackson and Frank Jackson all of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Quintella Jackson better known as The Boss, Deidre Tezeno and Shanekia Tezeno all of Lake Charles, LA; nine nieces, 13 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be truly missed and will forever be the big Mama of the family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Tezeno and grandparents, Alcede and Martha Jackson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
