Marquez Travon Thomas , Jr., entered the world bright eyed and bushy tailed on May 31, 2012.  He was born to Marshelia Smith and Marquez Thomas, Sr.  Everyone knew him as "Lil Quez," given this nickname after his father.  Definitely owning up to the name with his larger than life personality.  Although his time on earth was brief, he filled the hearts of many with beautiful warmth and joy.  He was sincerely a blessing, a true bundle of joy.  His contagious smile, so bright, he would fill even the darkest rooms with light.

Cuddling in bed with Mom and Dad, was truly his favorite playtime.  Sharing lots of giggles, big laughs and silly selfies were the highlight for them all.  A close tie for first place would be his love for television. There was no particular show necessary for his excitement. He would be entertained with just the news channel playing.  The bold, bright colors, flashy movement and good vibrations were a sure guarantee for excitement during his day.  His siblings were his number one playmates.  All enjoyed loving on him and making him smile; and he loved being loved.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his parents, Marshelia Smith and Marquez Thomas, Sr.; sisters, Zorihiana Smith and I'Leayana Thomas; brothers, Travon Guillory, Keygan Smith, Brenden and Davion Thomas; Grandparents, Trenda Simon (Keith), all of Lake Charles; Isaac Goins, Jr. (Barbara) of Houston, TX and Sanita Gates (Thomas) of Lake Charles, La; Great-Grandparents, Brenda Ball of Lake Charles, La.; Teddy Mack Thomas of Baldwin, La.; Emily Goins of Lake Charles, La., Isaac Goins, Sr., (Sheila) of Lake Charles, La.; Great Great Great Grandmother, Corinne Dixon of Lake Charles, La., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and playmates.

He is preceded in death by Grandfather, Aldwin Smith and Great Grandfather, Lupe Ramirez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
