Martha Jane Roberts , 66, departed this life on Monday, April 11, 2016, at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, LA.  She was born January 18, 1950, to Samuel Roberts, Sr., and Mabel Washington LeDay in Lake Charles, LA.  She served her country in the United States Army with an honorable discharge with a formal in service training of a legal clerk.

She leaves to mourn her godchild, Samantha R. Chavis; three brothers, John W. Roberts of Ferguson, MO, Samuel Roberts, Jr., of Sulphur, LA, Lawrence LeDay, Jr., of Lake Charles, LA; seven sisters, Jeanette Beverly of Houston, TX, Nettie (Lawrence) Ward of Sulphur, LA, Marjorie R. Ford of Baton Rouge, LA, Evelyn M. Singleton of Sulphur, LA, Caroline (Larry) Anderson of Orange, TX, Cynthia (Robert) Landry of Norfolk, VA and Olivia (Earl) Wooten of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Roberts, Sr., and Mabel Washington LeDay; stepfather, Lawrence LeDay, Sr; her daughter, Angie Shirley Roberts; and one sister, Daisy A. Roberts Warfield Walker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Sulphur, LA, Pastor Desmond Wallace officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
