Mary "Lou" Lucille Achan , 78, departed this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Converse, TX. She was born October 3, 1941, to Eve Thomas and Eunice Ceasar in Basile, LA.
Mary "Lou" was a very thoughtful, compassionate person that never met a stranger. She was a homemaker and loved things around the house. The love for church was most enjoyable. She was very religious and close to the Lord. She loved her family and friends with all her heart. She was kind and generous with her time, and extremely thoughtful in everything she did. She was very welcoming and loving when she was with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. In some time in her loving life she joined the fellowship with the ladies club at Whispering Meadows Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Anna Dews (Gary) of Dayton, TX; two sons, Eve Joseph Anderson (Tomika) of Liberty, TX and Jerry Achan (Danielle) of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Mary Foster; one brother, James Thomas (Nola); 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother, two children and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 12:00 noon, and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, DeQuincy, LA. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
