Mary Joyce Armelin, 86, departed this life on Monday, April 16, 2018, at a local nursing home in Lake Charles, La. She was born on June 22, 1931, in Sulphur, La, to Amos and Lydia Semien. She worked as a nurse until her retirement. She loved to play bingo, cook and bake sweets for the holidays. She loved everyone and especially loved to spoil her grand and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed but is now reunited with her husband and daughters.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Albert (Ruby) Armelin, Jr., Paul (Barbara) Armelin, Martin Armelin, and Alicia (Terrell) Armelin-Joseph; 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; her BFF, Minnie Armelin Gobert and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Lydia Semien; her husband, Albert Armelin, Sr.; three daughters, Barbara, Gwendolyn and Annette Armelin; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Joseph; two brothers, Amos and Paul and six sisters, Mildred, Florence, Mary, Polly, Julia and Lillian.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, Pastor Doyle Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake, La., under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
