Mary A. Batchan was born January 22, 1947 in Mowata, Louisiana to the late Adley and Elder Semien Babineaux. A native of Mowata, she resided in Lake Charles most of her life where she was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mary was also an employee of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for ten years as a licensed practical nurse.

Those left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Stephanie Batchan of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Stephen Batchan of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Rose Marie Dejean of Crowley, LA, Mary Jane Babineaux of Iota, LA, and Theresa Baker of Lake Charles, LA; two brother, Oran and Eugene Babineaux both of Lake Charles, LA; one granddaughter, Ciara Batchan of Lake Charles, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
