IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Jane
Belton
September 16, 1939 – July 28, 2020
Mary Jane Belton , 80 departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, in Lake Charles, LA. She was born September 16, 1939, to Albert Pitre and Orelia Ardoin Pitre in Basile, LA . A long-time resident of Lake Charles, LA, she graduated from WW Stewart High School in Basile, LA, where she played basketball her junior high school years. She married the late Paul Belton and upon their union they had five children. She was a very compassionate certified nursing assistant for 20 plus years at Moss Regional Hospital and retired after 27 years from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
She was an active and dedicated member of St. Henry Catholic Church. When you entered Mary's home, you always found her sitting at her kitchen table. She was either reading her devotions or deep in her bible. She was a faithful servant of God and a prayer warrior. We know she entered into the kingdom of Heaven where her Father said, "Well done my good and faithful servant".
She leaves to cherish her memories her four children, Harold (Charlotte) Belton, Vanessa Belton, Robert (Lela) Belton all of Lake Charles, LA and Russell (Rima) Belton of Savannah, GA; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; close neighbor friends, Joyce Jackson and Anna Prater; Goddaughter, Fran Simon and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Orelia Pitre; her husband, Paul Belton; brother, Jimmy Pitre; son, Samuel Belton and great grandson, Malicha Freeman.
