Mrs. Mary Marva Blue , 76, departed this life on Friday, June 8, 2018, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born on November 1, 1941, to the late Raleigh Ford, Sr., and Florence A. Jackson Ford in New Roads, LA. She worked as a school teacher and with the Genesee County District Court Probation Department in Flint, MI. She was also a retired teacher with the Calcasieu Parish School Board in Lake Charles, LA.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Mrs. Yolonda D. Chatman (John), of Flushing, MI, Ms. Edwina Marie Blue and Mr. Edward Blue, Jr., (Betsy) of Lake Charles, LA; her siblings, Mr. Joseph Ford (Wilma), Pastor Raleigh Ford, Jr., (Connie) of Flint, MI, Dr. Melva Ford Thibodeaux (Pastor Dr. Isiah) of Lake Charles, LA., Mrs. Cherry Newman (Sam) of Jacksonville, FL, Attorney Wanderlon Barnes of Houston, TX, and Ms. Catherin Faye Ford of Lake Charles, LA; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Raleigh and Florence Ford, Sr.; her husband, Rev. Edward Blue, Sr. and one sister, Jane Allen Ford.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., and funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at New Light Baptist Church, 2514 Lake Street, Pastor Lee Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
