Mary Chavis Duhon, 96, entered into her eternal home on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the comfort of her home. Mary Chavis Duhon was a life long resident of Lake Charles, LA. She was born in Bellview, LA on April 1, 1917 to the late Early Chavis and Louise Richard. Her greatest joy was her family, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; Early and Louise Chavis, her husband; Lawrence Duhon, two sisters; Lee Ethel Chavis, Mary A. Chavis, two brothers; Ivory Chavis, Abram Chavis, and one daughter; Anna Grace Duhon. She leaves to cherish her memories; seven daughters; Gladys Chretien, Dorothy Melancon both of Port Arthur, TX, Sybil Davis of Beaumont, TX, Mary Wesley, Mary Duhon, Orelia Toussand all of Lake Charles, LA, Patricia Wolford of Houston, TX, four sons; Lawrence Duhon, Jr. of Carencro, LA, Carl Duhon, Peter Duhon both of Lake Charles, LA, Charles Duhon of Houston, TX; 41 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren; 36 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
