Mary Eleanor Robinson Johnson departed this life November 28, 2014 at the age of 72 in the comforts of her home. She was a native of Lake Charles, La was born to the union of Julia B. LeDeaux and Joseph Robinson Sr. of Lake Charles, La. She was the eldest of 5 children. Mary worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years helping to save lives and heal those who came under her care. She was a member of Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Fellowship Church but spent most of her life as a member of New Sunlight Baptist Church. Her accomplishments began early in her youth and included graduating from Washington High in 1961 where she was voted Miss Washington High her senior year. Mary received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1967 from McNeese State University. She was among the first of three Black graduates to complete the Nursing Program at McNeese State. She continued her education obtaining her Masters of Psychology in 1984 and her Teachers Certification in 1985. The State of Louisiana awarded her a life long accreditation to educate in the Louisiana School System. She was preceded in death by her parents Julia B. LeDeaux and Joseph Robinson Sr. Mary leaves to cherish her precious memory five sisters; Joanne Hadley of Colorado Springs, CO., Edith Macarthy and Sandra Robinson both of Lake Charles, La., Pam and Aree Elizabeth Robinson ; two brothers; Joseph Robinson Jr. of Tye, TX. and Mark LeDeaux of Tempe, AZ. One son; Terry James Richard III of Beaumont, TX., twin daughters Tracie M. and Stacie M. Richard of Lake Charles, LA. Four grandchildren; Matthew James Richard, Imani Frazier, Denzel Richard, and Taryn Richard, and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
