Mary Alice Payne , 57, departed this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. She was born on April 2, 1960, to Larry Lawrence Payne and Jane Aggerson Payne in Opelousas, LA. She worked as a cook at various restaurants until she became disabled.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting turtles, knitting and cooking for her family. She loved playing with her grandchildren; they were the love of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Tiffany Payne and Mark Payne of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Phyllis Payne and Mary Jane (Peter) Lastrapes both of Opelousas, LA; five grandchildren, Malayah, Gabriel and Ze'Kai Payne, Keithlan Smith and Cameron Payne and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Jane Payne; one brother, Albert Payne, Sr., and one grandson, Devonta Smith.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jimmy R. Stevens, officiating.
