Mary Melissa Gary Simien

Mary Melissa Gary Simien, affectionately called Melissa, 63, departed this life on September 13, 2026, at a local hospital. She was born to Ruby Gertrude (Andrus) and Jessie Gary, Sr. in Sulphur, Louisiana. She grew up in the Mossville community.

Melissa met and married Sidney Wayne Simien, and together they had two sons, Sidney, Jr. and Marcus. Melissa worked as an attendant clerk at a local dry-cleaners and enjoyed gardening, zydeco music, fishing and sewing. 

Cherishing her memories forever are her loving husband, Sidney Wayne Simien, Sr.; sons, Sidney Wayne (LaQeisha) Simien, Jr., and Marcus Lee (Shelby) Simien; brother, Jessie (Jackie) Gary, Jr., of Sulphur, Louisiana; sister, Angela Duruseau of Westlake, Louisiana; and six grandchildren, Kadyne, Kayzlin, Keiarya, Trinity, Rachel, and Melanie.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, September 25. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10am for Visitation and Memorial Service at 11am.  All services will be held in the King's Funeral Home Main Chapel.
