Marye "Bell" Mitchell was born on May 21, 1938, to the late Louie Lewis and Lareisa Arceneaux in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.  While most of her childhood was spent in the Grand Coteau community, Bell was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Emile Mitchell on August 27, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana and raised their family. Their holy union was blessed with three children, two sons, Joseph Raymond Mitchell and Emile Mitchell Jr. and one daughter, Priscilla Ann Mitchell all in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Bell was loved by all who knew her. We know that our beloved mother and sister has suffered greatly and that she is now at rest and in a better place. We are grateful to God for sending her to us and for the precious times we had with her.

Those who carry on this legacy of love are her two sons, Joseph R. (Demetrius), Emile Jr. (Charmaine) both of Houston, TX; one daughter, Priscilla A. (Andrew) Hartman of Lake Charles, LA; one sister, Mary Monsanto Orphe of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Megan Mitchell of Houston, TX, Kiara Hartman of Lake Charles, LA, Emile Mitchell III, Emileah Mitchell, Adrain Houston and Draven Houston all of Houston, TX, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Mossville Truth Tabernacle Church, 1400 Gerstner Memorial and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
