Matthew Chaisson Bashay , 63, departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2017.  He was born on September 3, 1953, to the late Henry and Gertrude Bashay in New Iberia, Louisiana.

He attended New Iberia High School and was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington.  He served his country in the United States Army with a honorable discharge.  He worked most of his life as a consumer debt counselor for various counseling agency in Lake Charles, Louisiana, until his retirement.  He enjoyed cooking, golfing and preaching the word of God.

He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Angelica Bashay of Tacoma, WA, Christina Bashay of Lake Charles, LA, Matthew Bashay and Alisha Bashay both of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Arica and Armoni Bashay of Tacoma, WA, Iyonna Randle of Vinton, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gertrude Bashay.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
