At the age of 102 on Saturday, January 11, 2014 Mattie Agnes Webb Mosley departed this life for her heavenly home while in Rosewood Nursing Home. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing (2Timothy 4:6-8) Sister Mattie Mosely was born on July 28, 1911, in Waterproof, La., to the late Samuel Webb and Florence Nelson Webb. She was the 5th of Nine children. Under the Rev. Bernard Irving, Pastor of Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Waterproof, La. Sister Mosley accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of sixteen. In 1944, she united with the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under Rev. D.J. Jones, Pastor. She was a member of the Mission Circle #1, Industrial Club and the Community Faith Prayer Band. Sister Mosely was united in Holy Matrimony in 1931 to Cooper Coleman. They were blessed with one daughter and three sons. She later married Henry Mosley. She leaves to mourn one son, Joseph I. (Sadie) Colman of Sulphur, La., three Grand Children, Terry Lozodo, Cynthia G. Coleman Lee and Sharon D. Semien of Lake Charles, La., three Great Grand Children, Clophus J. Semien, Jacob Coleman and Cloee Semien all of Lake Charles, La., and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Florence Webb, daughter, Dorothy Coleman, two sons, Cooper V. Coleman and Hebert J. Coleman of Lake Charles, La., three brothers, Jerry, Henry and Daniel Webb all of Lake Charles, La.
