Mayas Joseph Rougeaux was born on May 14, 1930 to Amaya Hardy and Artemon Rougeau in Basile Louisiana. He was one of nine children, seven of-which preceded him in death, along with eighteen older half-sisters and half-brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Leola Rougeaux; three daughters, Betty Ann Rougeaux, Emma Lee Handy (Darrell Handy) of Lake Charles. Ethel Jean Rougeaux-Richard of Cheek, TX; one son Ray Allen Rougeaux (Darlene Rougeaux) of Dallas, TX. Six grandchildren, Darrell Rougeau Handy Jr. (Christine Rougeau), Bettina Rougeaux, Adrian Handy (Jodi Handy), Taneesha Etuk, Tawanna Etuk, Barry Rougeaux Handy, Erica Francis, Tharold Francis, and Johnathon Wayne Rougeaux. 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. He is also survived by a sister Jessie Mae Reder (Andrew) of Lake Charles, LA his sister-in-laws, Laura Rougeau of Lake Charles, LA, and Leeanna Rougeaux of Andrews Texas. Two godchildren, Deborah Ann Reder of Lake Charles, LA and Kevin Rougeaux of Andrews, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
