Melinda Kaye "Lynn" Johnson Crosby, 53, of Lake Charles LA, was called home by her heavenly father Ahayah Ashar Ahayah (Exodus 3:14) on September 25 at 1:18 AM. Melinda was born on December 29, 1962. She was the first born child to Mayola Johnson Thomas and the late Handsome James Johnson Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA, she received the truth of Christ Yashaya within this past year. She was a member of Gathering of Christ Church Houston under the leadership of Elder LaChaama. She was a 1981 graduate of LaGrange High School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, wife, and friend and will be missed greatly. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, singing, and making crafts for her grandkids. Her life revolved around The Most High and her family, specially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Melinda leaves to cherish her love and memories: her husband of 34 years Edwin Crosby Sr.; one son Edwin (Lil Ed) Crosby Jr., one daughter Candyce (Peter) Edwards all of Lake Charles, her mother and step father Mayola Johnson Thomas and George Thomas of Pearl, Mississippi. One sister Mary Ann (Reggie) Hebert of Lanette, Alabama. One brother James Andy (Jill) Johnson of Lake Charles, LA and her favorite uncle Russell Johnson Sr. of Lake Charles, LA. Five grandchildren Morgan, Cadyn, Kyla, Parker, Camryn, and a host of relatives and friends, nieces and nephews.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father Handsome Johnson Sr., One brother Handsome Johnson Jr., one son Henry Crosby and her godmother and godfather Ruth and Stephen Garrick.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 10:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
