Melvin Moreau, Jr., 67, departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born December 19, 1956, to Melvin Moreau, Sr., and Leontine Guillory Moreau in Basile, LA.

He received the Holy Ghost at a very early age and was an active member of Livingway Pentecostal Church for over 33 years.  He was a veteran in the United States Army with an honorable discharge and was self-employed for over 20 plus years as a contractor.  He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and looking forward to the birth of his twin grandsons.  He loved witnessing and encouraging others.  If you knew him you could say he never met a stranger.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 46 years, Charlene Moreau; three children, Nathanial Moreau, Chasady Moreau both of Houston, TX and Thaddeus Moreau of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, Cayven, Keyle and Coy Moreau; two sisters, Emelda (Donald) Fontenot of Basile, LA and Linda Moreau of Lacassine, LA; one brother-in-law, Louis Lavergne of Tracy, CA and two sisters-in-law, Earline (Ertis) Hampton of Houston, TX and Mclida (Michael) of Basile, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Leontine Moreau, Sr., and three sisters, Annie Lee, Hilda and Laura.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Livingway Pentecostal Church.  Inurnment is scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
