Michael Lee Carter, Sr ., 63, departed this life on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on December 3, 1953, to the late Louis W. Green and Isabella Williams in Pontiac, MI. He worked as a landscaper at Prien Pines Nursery for 36 years. He loved being outdoors and visiting with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Isabella Williams; his children, Micheal (Eureka) Carter, Jr., Kimberly (Bryan) Goodley and Kenneth Griggs; eight sisters, Delores (Danny) Hall of Detroit, MI, Dianne (Billy) Allen of Pontiac, MI, Faye (Ronnie) Hillard, Marjorie (Timothy) Williams, Veronica Hughes, and Monica Williams, all of Lake Charles, LA, Tan Riley and Marilyn Jelks of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Sherman Wesley of Lake Charles, LA; 9 grandchildren, Colton, Ashanti, Braylon, Trey, Keiana, Ke'juan, Kendall, Ka'mya and Kaiden; one great grandchild, Callise, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis W. Green; his wife, Eva Dell Viltz Carter; one sister, Doris Gorham and his grandmother, Pecola Wesley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Timothy Williams, officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
