Mildred Jane Nickerson Kane was born August 24, 1933 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Noah Nickerson and Julia Jones Nickerson.
She graduated from W.O. Boston High School. Mildred was married to the late United States Army Veteran Morgan Kane.
Mildred leaves to cherish her loving memories; her sister, Zerline Weston of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons, Sidney (Pamela) Kane, Jerald Glenn Nickerson of Lake Charles, Louisiana; seven daughters, Debra Kane Armstrong, Jane Esther Kane, Linda (Charles) Wilkins, all from Lake Charles, Louisiana, Levella Marie (Joshua) Simon of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lena (Antoine) Simon of Springdale, Arkansas, Angela (Roderick) Manuel of Humble, Texas, Tonette (Simon) Rosette of Opelousas, Louisiana, her goddaughter Brenda Williams, 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Noah and Julia Nickerson, husband Morgan Kane, one daughter, Verena Nickerson, one grandson Derrick Nickerson, and longtime companion, Millard Collins, two sisters Hazel Byrd, Margie Anderson, and one brother John Nickerson.
