Moses Coleman Prince, Sr., 80, departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his residence in Lake Charles, LA. He was born March 17, 1941, to Moses Prince and Corine Jolivette in Palmetto, LA. He worked at Hebert Lumber Company until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories his one daughter, Thelma (Alonzo) Forrest; three sons, Jessie Prince (Delores Andrus), Moses (Danisha) Prince, Jr., and Ronald (Daisy) Prince all of Lake Charles, LA; his siblings, Curley Jolivette of Opelousas, LA and Roy Zachary of Denver, CO; 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Willard Thomas, Lewell Thomas and Archie Stevens, all of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Campbell of Chicago, IL and Lillian Stevens of Lake Charles, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses Prince, Sr., and Corine Jolivette; wife, Velma Thomas Prince; one son, Patrick Paul Prince; two sisters, Corine Green and Beatrice Rideaux and two brothers, Louis Ned and John Prince.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., and funeral service at 3:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
