Patricia Ann Batiste, 67, departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2019, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born March 14, 1952, to Leola Griffin in New Orleans, LA.  She was a  member of First Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alvin Jefferson.  She was employed with New Sunlight Daycare and Early Learning Center over 20 years and ended her career at First Methodist School.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Lamont Dodd, Jermaine Dodd and LaBraylynn Batiste all of Lake Charles, LA; her siblings, Anthony (Martha) Williams of Lake Charles, LA, Edward Griffin, Sr., of Denver, CO, and Randolph Griffin of New Orleans, LA; 24 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Griffin; one son, Stacy C. Dodd; her grandmother, Vina B. Williams; two sisters, Antionette Griffin and Cynthia Griffin; one brother, Ronald Griffin and her foster mother, Melena Carter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. and funeral service at 12:00 noon, at First Community Baptist Church, Rev. Alvin Jefferson, officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
