Raphael "Rae" John Collins Sr., 73, of Lake Charles, Louisiana gave up the ghost on Monday, April 27, 2026 in his home. Rae was born in Church Point, Louisiana on October 25, 1952 to the union of Jacob and Sarah Guillory Collins.

Rae was a Military Policeman from 1972 until 1975 at Fort Ord National Monument on Monterey Bay in California. In later years, Rae opened and operated his own concrete business. One of his hobbies included numerous construction jobs. Of Rae's accomplishments, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; Jacob and Sarah Guillory Collins and brother; James Collins.

Left to cherish his precious memories are sons; Raphael Collins Jr. and Nicholas "Nick" Collins Sr., daughter; Sarah Cobb, grandchildren; Andrue Cobb, Aaron Cobb, Forest Cobb, Ariana Collins, Sophia Collins, Gwendolyn Collins, Raphael Collins III, Emily Collins, Natalie Collins, Nicholas Collins Jr., Natasha Collins, Ja'lyn Lesar and Maleah Love. As well as friends and other relatives.

Condolences are not necessary, as this is not our way. We understand who our father was. Any debts or wrongs he may have carried are his own and are now settled. His life was lived and he passed on his own terms. The family Raphael Collins Sr. are focused on celebrating a life lived, rather than mourning a space left vacant. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 at King's Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran's (SWLA) Cemetery in Jennings, LA at 12:30 PM. Services entrusted to King's Funeral Home.
