On the Tuesday, December 3, 2013 Richard P."Press" Webb departed this life. He was born on July 28, 1923 to the late John D. and Retta Locks Webb in Elton, La. Richard joined the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He returned to Louisiana and attended Southern University and Grambling College. He worked as a substitute teacher and was a construction laborer for many years. He moved to Houston, Texas and spent more than 40 years there before moving to Lake Charles, in 2010. He leaves to mourn his sister Birdell Webb Kelly of Lake Charles, LA; sisters-in-law: Agnes Webb of Lake Charles, LA; Destry Webb of Vallejo, CA ;Nephews: Murphy P. Webb of Baton Rouge, LA and John D. (Kate) Webb II of Modesta, CA; Nieces: Wray W. Smith of Baton Rouge, LA; Sharon Webb of San Diego, CA; Jassaland (Donald Ray) Demease of Lake Charles, LA; Retta Kelly of Houston, TX; Renita(Charles) Knight of Milpitas, CA; Toni Livingston of Houston, TX; 13 great nephews and nieces and a host of great-great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents John D. and Retta Locks Webb; brothers; Solomon and Willie Webb, brother-in-law; James Kelly and niece Deletta Kelly.
