Robert Joseph "Bob" Blanchard, 64, departed this life on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his residence in Lake Charles, La. He was born on October 20, 1953, to Joseph Blanchard and Marella Alleman in Lafayette, La.

He was a 1971 graduate of Comeaux High School in Lafayette, La. and received a theology degree in 1990 at Bethany Theological Seminary. In 1971 through 1974, he received an honorable discharge from serving his country in the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a salesman in the auto industry until his retirement. He loved to draw, going to bingo and was an avid fisherman. He was a big LSU and New Orlean Saints fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Marella Fuselier; his children, Jeremy, Derek, and Jered Blanchard; three sisters, Michelle (Mike) Smith; Roberta Blanchard and Maria Crocetto Fontenot; his fiance', Marie Huckeba; five grandchildren, Addison Blanchard, Jaxon Blanchard, Avery Blanchard, Aubrey Gehring and Ethan Gehring; godmother, Nanny Ethel; godchild, Jason (T-Boy) Pizza and nephew, Cody Smith; aunt, Enola Libby; his sitter, Johnny Thomas; his two furry companions, Boudreaux and Chloe and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Joseph and Juanita Blanchard.

The family acknowledges and give special thanks to his two nurses, Monique and Renea, Dr. Ameer Khan and Amedisys Hospice.
