Mr. Rogers Willrich, Jr. was born January 25, 1935 in San Antonio, TX to the late Rogers and Francis Willrich, Sr. Mr. Rogers Willrich, Jr. departed this life according to God's appointed time on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2:45PM. He joined the United States Army at a young age. After basic training he was assigned to Company E, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Training Brigade, in Fort Polk , Louisiana, where he later on went to complete two tours of the Vietnam War and received the bronze star and a host of other honors. After returning from the Vietnam War for the second time he became a drill sergeant in Fort Polk, LA, where he later on met the love of his life Mrs. Josephine Willrich and was married for 37 years before God called her home. Out of this union four children were born. He was proceeded in death by his parents; Mr. Rogers and Francis Willrich, Sr, wife; Mrs. Joesphine Willrich, sister; Shirley Ann Willrich Smith, and brother; Travis Willrich. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories; one daughter; JoEtta (Samuel) Brooks, three sons; Darrell Wayne Ray, Karl (Darlene) Saner, Sr., Earl Verlon Saner, all of Lake Charles, LA, three biological children; Cordell (Bill) Banks of South Carolina, Debra (Michael) Sayles, Shirley Ann Willrich both of San Antonio, TX, one brother; Harold "Spanky" Willrich; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, May, 1, 2013 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at King's Funeral Home, 1611 Hwy 14, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Funeral Service will be in San Antonio, TX. Final resting place will be at San Antonio National Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
