May 12, 1927 – April 23, 2017
Rosalie Thomas Hill , 89 years passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in her home in Lake Charles, LA. She went to meet the Lord our God on Divine Mercy Sunday. Mrs. Hill was a native of Opelousas, LA; however she lived the majority of her life in Lake Charles, LA. Rosalie was born to the late Mr. Alex Thomas and late Rose Collins Thomas; she was one of 12 children of this union.
She was married in 1947 to Lee Taft Hill and had 8 children together. She was a very hard worker and had retired in 1989 from Rosewood Nursing Home after 30+ years of service. A devout member of St. Henry Catholic Church for over 40 years and a valued member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a very compassionate kind-hearted woman who valued her family and her faith above all. She loved the Lord tremendously and was well known for saying her Rosary at least 5 times each day for everyone in her life from friends to family to our entire community. She enjoyed several hobbies such as crocheting, knitting, and coloring. She loved the local weekly bingo night at the CCOA Hall and really enjoyed being outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Taft Hill; sons, Charles Hill Sr, and James Hill; grandsons, Jeffrey Veazea, Julian Brockington, and Michael Hill, Jr; sisters, Mary Thomas Alfred, Theresa Thomas Charles, Agnes Thomas Alfred, Lillian Thomas Charles, Evelyn Thomas Cormier, and Rita Thomas Perkins; brothers, Eola Thomas, Alec Thomas , Adam Thomas, and David Thomas.
She is survived by her youngest brother, Albert Thomas and her children; Rose Hill Perrodin, Patricia Hill Boutte, Michael Hill, Carl Hill Sr, Georgia Hill Jackson, Lionel Hill, and a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great grand kids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many family friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 8:00am to 10:00am with the Rosary at 9:00am at King's Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the directions of King's Funeral Home.
