Rosco R. Young departed this life on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Senatobia, Mississippi.
Rosco was born November 13, 1920, to Oscar and Cornila Berry Young in Boyce, Louisiana. He married Delphine Hayes Young on November 21, 1942, and to this union ten children were born. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and ordained as a minister on August 9, 1946. He was a loyal worshipper of Jehovah, and faithful elder for sixty-three years. He served congregations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, along with traveling to conventions coast to coast.
He leaves to cherish his memories eight daughters, Loretta (Richard) Young of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Carolyn (Forest) Mouton of Sarah, Mississippi, Sheela (Robert) Thibodeaux of Beaumont, Texas, Edna (Joseph) Thomas of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Deborah (Larry) Henderson of Beaumont, Texas, Vanetta (Steve) Chapman of Ida Bel, Oklahoma, Georgia (Anthony) LaVergne, and Sharon Young, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons, Robert (Dawn) Young of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Ronald (Mary) Young of Dequincy, Louisiana; four sisters, Beatrice Miller of Crosby, Texas, Carrie Bankett of San Diego, California, Isabella (Claudia) Busby of Houston, Texas, and Lillie (Michael) Matthews of New Orleans, Louisiana; one brother Daniel (Mickey) Young of Baton Rouge; two sisters-in-law Georgia Trahan of Lake Charles, and Thyatria Young of Brookland, Texas; 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Delphine Young; two grandshildren, and four great-grandchilden.
