Obituary

Roxy Ann Cole Williams ,  AKA Foxy Roxy, AKA, Ms. Roxanne, was born on September 10, 1962 at Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the proud parents of Earl and Shirley Cole. Roxy's parents relocated to Los Angeles, California when she was eight months old. Los Angeles was where Roxy lived most of her life. Roxy began her academic years at Cienega School, followed by Palms Junior High School. She attended Fairfax High School for one year and persuaded her parents to transfer her to University High School so that she could attend high school there and graduate with all of her friends. She graduated high school in 1980. After graduating from high school, she met and married Darren Sain. From this union, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Taccara Charell Sain born November 15th, 1983. She has always been her most prized possession.

Roxy began her career in the medical communications field where she successfully managed and co-owned a medical exchange service called American Medical Exchange Inc. for several years.

Roxy relocated she and her beloved daughter to Lake Charles in 1998, after the passing of her beloved mother. She wanted to be of support to her father during this time. Growing up, she and her family were very close and was not accustomed to being separated from each other. She did not have the heart to leave her father, so she and her daughter began a new life in Lake Charles. Roxy began a new profession and became successful in the culinary industry. Many people in the city had the pleasure of eating her delicious meals, beginning at Millers Cafe. She met Brian Williams in 2005. They were married February 16th, 2008 at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Roxy went on to hold head chef positions at, St. Patricks' Hospital and Robinswood School. Roxy rededicated her life to Christ on October 27th, 2013 and was baptized at Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Roxy loved the Lord with all of her heart, and prayed to Him constantly. In 2014, she suffered an injury while working and shortly there after, was diagnosed with throat cancer. She successfully conquered cancer and was in remission for over a year. She suffered from the residual effects of the cancer treatments. She battled daily. Her strength and determination stemmed from her deep and profound love and devotion she had for her family. Her grandson Ky'mani was the joy of her life. He brought her comfort and the will and desire to continue the fight. Roxy loved her family dearly and is an inspiration to all of us. We know that she did her best and fought the good fight and kept the faith. We will miss her and she will forever be in our hearts. We have many fond and humorous memories of our beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Teresa Olivier-Cole by exactly 20 years to the day (January 4th, 1998).

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Brian Williams; Her father Earl Cole Sr. and Step Mother Vivian Cole; Mother-in-law Gennie B.
