IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby
Guidry
October 8, 1935 – November 16, 2017
Ruby "Aunt Chiley" Guidry , 82, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 16, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1935 in Iowa, LA, to the late Dave and Octavia Stevens. Ruby was one of twelve children born to that union. She moved to Lake Charles with her family and later married J.C. Guidry. She brought into this family four beautiful children, Kenneth Lynn, Deborah Ann, Jeffery and Edward Paul. She was an avid gardener whose green thumb could make the smallest plants grow and produce.
Ruby loved family and family gatherings, especially crawfish boils with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She came into her Christian faith and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. In 1998, she received her certificate of license in the Gospel Ministry from Mt. Carmel Ministries Inc., in the State of Louisiana. She used her calling to the ministry to touch lives as she walked in her calling and her gift.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Deborah Ann Guidry of Lake Charles, LA; two sons, Jeffery (Debra) Guidry of Sulphur, LA and Edward Paul Guidry of Lake Charles, LA; two granddaughters, Oraneka Guidry and Jamey Guidry (Ali) Kadhim all of Lake Charles, LA; one great grandson, Kaydon Drain, two great-granddaughters, Chancey Paulette Guidry and Aaliyah Grace Kadhim all of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Gloria LeBlanc of, Vinton, LA, and Gladys Wilson of Houston, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters and her son, Kenneth Lynn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church, Father Matthew Cormier, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
