Sharon Ann Durousseau

Sharon Ann Durousseau departed this life at the age of 70 on August 26, 2026, in Baton Rouge, LA, at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1955, in Kinder, Louisiana, to Leonard and Olevia (Guillory) Durousseau. 

She was retired but previously worked as a graphic artist, cosmetologist, nursing assistant, and ultimately a primary caregiver for her parents. Her hobbies included mixed-media art, painting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, making flower arrangements and bouquets, watching sci-fi and superhero films, ministering to the sick and shut-in through her Intercessor and Nursing Home Ministry church teams, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She loved her church, Living Word Christian Center, and was an active member.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Olevia Guillory Durousseau and Leonard Durousseau, and by her brothers, Terry Durousseau and Terrance Durousseau. She leaves to mourn her siblings, Shelia Butler (Sidney) of Baton Rouge, LA; Ronald Durousseau (Leonida) of Las Vegas, NV; and Frances Smith (Lee) of Gary, IN. She doted on her nieces and nephews, and their children, and considered them all her babies: Sheila Escarda Gerald, Alicia Butler Pierre, Radcliff Durousseau, Renita Butler Varghese, Terrance L. Durousseau, Francine Smith, Leenhea Durousseau, Blesilda Durousseau, and Sharon Smith. 

Visitation will be on September 5, 2026, at 10:00 am at Living Word Christian Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, followed by the funeral service and celebration of Sharon's life at 11:00 am at the same location. Burial services will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
