Shirley Mae Drake Jones went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2013. Born in New Iberia, LA on February 6, 1939; she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Agnes Orphe Drake. They moved to Westlake, LA where she was educated in Calcasieu Parish Public Schools, graduating from Mossville High School in 1956. She attended Grambling College and McNeese State University. She was a retired teacher, having worked in Calcasieu Parish and Iberia Parish schools. She was married to Clarence Willington Jones; to this union two children were born, Deborah Renee' and Christopher Renard Jones. Shirley Mae Drake Jones was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative, friend, and church member all of whom will miss her dearly. She attended Warren United Methodist Church for many years until she moved her membership to Breath of Life Praise & Worship Center. She was preceded by her parents; the late Cornelius and Agnes Drake, two sisters; Bernadine Richard and Delores Perkins, three brothers; Cornelius Drake Jr., Ernest and Marshall Drake. She is survived by her children; Deborah Renee' and Christopher Renard Jones of Lake Charles, LA, grandchildren; Justin Christopher Jones of Hollywwod, CA and Jandalyn Christa Jones of Shreveport, LA, great-grandchildren; Austin and Arron Christopher Jones of Shreveport, LA, nieces and nephews, sister; Ann, Gloria(Walter), and Julia(Ferman), brothers; Charles(Gertrude) and Matthew(Beth).
