IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sillersteen Daniels
Snell
May 29, 1938 – May 3, 2020
Sillersteen Daniels Snell was born on May 29, 1938, in DeQuincy, LA, to Rady and Bessie Daniels. She attended Grand Avenue High School and worked at Whatley's Cleaners before being hired by Boise Southern, where she remained for many years. On Sunday, May 3, 2020, in the wee hours of the morning, the Lord stretched out His hand and called his faithful servant from labor to reward.
"MaDear", as she was fondly known to her family, was a God-fearing woman who gave her life to Christ and was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Starks, Louisiana. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of her dog, Zacky.
Sillersteen was preceded in death by her parents, Rady and Bessie Daniels; husband Walter Lee Snell; brothers, Rady N. Daniels and Raymond Daniels; sisters Willie Mae Hillsbury and Neda Faye Burnett; grandsons Edward Joseph Broussard, Edward Junius Broussard, Jr., and Ricky Clark; and granddaughter Krishna Brock.
Forever cherishing her memories are her five children, daughters, Dr. Sandra Banks Taylor, Carol Hopkins Scott, and Arlesa Cotlong Clark; sons, Robert Cotlong, Jr. and Kenneth Cotlong. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ardisteel Daniels, Edgar Faulk, and Dillard Faulk; sisters Yvonne Steward, Bessie Johnson, Brenda Smith, and Linda Shields; grandchildren, Rohn Banks, Kishia Hope, Rolanda Brinson, Kevin Cotlong, Robert Cotlong, III, Melody Hernandez, Racheal Miller, Kendria Johnson, Kenisha Cotlong, Ciarra Kendall, Hezekiah Cotlong, and Jacob Cotlong; 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
