Obituary

Sires Ceaser, fondly known as "Pop" to his children, was born to Batson Cessaire and Eveline Pierre August on October 6, 1935, in Oberlin, LA and was the fifth of eleven children. He attended school in Mamou, LA and enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 7, 1956. He completed his tour of duty on March 7, 1958, and went on to serve in the Army Reserves until 1962, when he was discharged with honors. On May 17, 1958, at the age of twenty-two, Sires married his soulmate, Irene Johnwell. To this union, three children were born, Sires Dwayne, Ray Anthony, and Tony Lynn Ceasar.

Sires' career as an electrician began with Wiley Electric of Lake Charles, LA. Some years later, he began his own business as Ceaser Electric and later joined CITGO Petroleum. After many years as a "top" electrician at CITGO, Sires retired. He dedicated his life to the electrical trade and introduced many of his friends and loved ones to the trade. He was self-taught in many crafts and showed those around him that you can be anything and do anything with faith in God. Sires attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he served as Head Usher, Bazaar Committee Member, a member of Holy Name of Society and helped to construct the Our Lady of Fatima Chapel. He was a 4 th degree member of the Vernon Joseph Lodge #22, a 3 rd degree member of the Knights of Peter Claver and Founder/President of the Lake Charles Connection Trail Riders.

Sires departed this life on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 11:20 pm, at the age of 86. Left to treasure his memory are his wife of over 63 years, Irene Ceaser; two sons, Sires D Ceasar (Judy) of Lake Charles, LA and Ray A Ceaser (Angela) of Lakewood, WA; sisters, Lucy (Vincent) Tyler of Beaumont, TX and Beatrice (Lawrence) Guillory of Missouri City, TX; brothers, Simon (Virga) and Johnise Ceaser of Beaumont, TX; one aunt, Cora Morrow of Vinton, LA; sisters-in-law, Everta Ceaser-Benoit of Orange, TX and Nora Ceaser of Cheek, TX. He also leaves seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Sires was preceded in death by his parents Batson and Eveline Cessaire one son, Tony Lynn Ceasar; brothers, Oris, Stephi, Paul, Norris, Bertrand (Lela Mae) both deceased and Wilden Ceaser and one daughter-in-law, Deidre Ceasar.

A wake service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Mausolem under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
