Stephanie Gallow Morris, peacefully transitioned on August 17, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on September 26, 1960, to Annie Bell and John Gallow, who precedes her in death. Known for a personality that could light up any room, Stephanie never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Throughout her career, she found purpose in uplifting others. She worked as the Public Relations Director for Home Health 2000 and dedicated her professional life in that field. She enjoyed connecting with people, sharing her knowledge, and making others feel heard. Her love for the community extended beyond her career. As a lifetime resident of Lake Charles, she spent much of her time in organizations that became close to her heart including, the Top Ladies of Distinction, NAACP, the Oak Park Alliance, and numerous community campaigns. Stephanie never hesitated to show up, lend a hand, or use her voice to make a difference.
Stephanie’s faith was a vital part of her life. She was an active member of United Christian Fellowship Church, where she spent many years as a Sunday school teacher and counselor.
A fiercely devoted matriarch, her family was her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Morris; children, Hanaiah Morris, Evan Morris (Shore), and Haley Morris; and her beloved grandchild Margot Morris. She also leaves behind her siblings: Cynthia (the late Terrence) Honore, Pamela (Bill) Simmons, John (Julie) Gallow, and Chris (Tammy) Gallow and a host of family and friends who will carry on her memory.
Her life was full of love, laughter, friendship, service, and adventure. The light she carried will continue to shine for years. She leaves behind not only a family who adored her, but a community of people whose lives were touched by her infectious energy and presence. Her absence will be deeply felt, but so will the joy that she brought into the lives of so many.
The family welcomes friends to celebrate her life beginning at 10:30am at United Christian Fellowship on Saturday, August 22, 2026, followed by the funeral services at 1pm. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
