IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tameka R
Livingston
January 27, 1978 – August 3, 2021
Tameka Rojeanne Livingston was born on January 27, 1978, in Jennings, LA to the union of Darryl S. Livingston and Hilda Marie Rosette, born Dartez. Tameka was the oldest of her siblings, Darryl Dartez and Desiree' Livingston.
She accepted Christ into her life at an early age, and her faith and belief in our Lord, Jesus Christ showed in her trials that she battled because she never complained. It has always been said that "the Lord gives His toughest battles to His strongest warriors", and that is who Tameka was, a strong warrior.
Tameka was a 1998 graduate of Park View Baptist Academy in Sulphur, LA. She completed the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Program at Martin De Porres Nursing Home in Lake Charles, LA. She also completed professional cosmetology school at Demmons School of Beauty in Lake Charles, LA. Before her health began to decline, Tameka worked at Jo's Party House in Lake Charles, LA as a cake decorator.
Tameka was a great mother to her two daughters and one son, namely Destinee Livingston, Armani Livingston, and Daurtez Livingston, and one step-daughter, Desiree' Harrison. She was an even better grandmother to her four little grandchildren, Kennadee Vitatoe, India Vitatoe, Adelynn Vitatoe, and Kyngston Phills, and one step-grandson, Daylan Brooks. They brought her so much joy, and she was very proud of them.
On August 3, 2021, at 6:23 PM, God saw that Tameka was growing tired. It was time for her to take her rest. He sent his angels to take her by the hand to lead her to her heavenly home.
Tameka was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Orelia LeBlanc, Merlin Dartez, and step-grandfather, Billie Jones; paternal grandmother, Martha Livingston, and two uncles, Shawn Barken Livingston and Alvin Myles; her great-aunt and uncle who took her as a granddaughter, Zula Mae and Robert Baylone, and her godmothers, Theresa Rubin and Annette Matthews.
She leaves fond memories with her parents, Hilda (Anthony) Rosette of Lake Charles, LA; Darryl (Becky) Livingston of Gueydan, LA; one puppy who showed her so much love, MiMi Livingston, two daughters, Destinee (Jakalin Vitatoe) Livingston and Armani (David Phills) Livingston, and one son, Daurtez Livingston, and one step-daughter, Desiree' Harrison, and one goddaughter, Latavia Myers all of Lake Charles, LA; her four grandchildren, Kennedee, India, Kyngston, Adelynn, and one step-grandson, Daylan all of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Darryl (Lakenya) Dartez and one sister, Desiree' Livingston, both of Lake Charles, LA; two stepbrothers, Kory and Jordan Rosette of Honolulu, HI; three nieces, Madison Dartez, Danaja Dartez, and Jarriya Hazelton; two nephews, Jamarion Dartez and Jarid Hazelton all of Lake Charles, LA. She also leaves special memories with her one aunt, Tanya Myles of Gueydan, LA; six uncles, Grayling (Trish) Livingston of Atlanta, GA; Noel (Tina) Livingston of Dallas, TX; and Efrem (Sandra) Livingston of Gueydan, LA; Von Dartez of Lake Charles, LA; Melvin (Sherry) Dartez of Lake Charles, LA; and David Dartez of Lake Charles, LA, her godfather, Elridge Dartez of Lake Charles, LA; her best friend, Moneaka Myers of Lake Charles, LA, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
