Thelma "Dot" Minor , 85, gained her wings on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born November 12, 1932, to the late John and Jane Chevalier in Lafayette, LA.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a strong woman of faith and a prayer warrior. She was the matriarch of our family and an awesome woman of God. She was a phenomenal woman who held us and everything together. She was always there when you needed her and said what was on her mind. She had a warm heart of gold and always gave her best and then some. Her love melted your heart and she gave it freely to everyone. She had an extra ordinary ability to give love.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 12 children, Beverly Evans (Brazil), Tammy Robertson (Mark), Dannie Rankins, Pamela Vital (David), Laura Denson (Solomon), Janet Lemons (Edwards), all of Lake Charles, LA, Jessica Denson (John) of Beaumont, TX, Alfred Minor, Robert Minor (Brenda), Mark Minor, and Jason Minor all of Lake Charles, LA and Craig Minor of Baytown, TX; 26 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Minor, Sr; her parents, John and Jane Chevalier; one son, Albert Minor, Jr.; two sisters, Beatrice Alexander and Mary Louise Cormier; and three brothers, Eddie, Gilbert and Albert Chevalier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 12:00 p.m., and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
