Theral Eugene Gray was born Novemeber 3, 1951 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Theresa Boutte Gray and Melvin Sidney Gray, Sr.

A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, he graduated from W.O. Boston High School and attended Grambling State University. He served as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Navy and there he trained as a meterologist. He was an eloquent, accomplished journalist, writing frequent articles in several journals in the Lake Charles area and was interviewed by national journals.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Rashan Anthony Gray of Chesapeake, Virginia, wife Devonia Gray of Chesapeake, Virgina; mother, Theresa Boutte Gray of Lake Charles, Louisiana, two brothers, Melvin (Geraldine) Gray, Jr., and Al (Carolyn) Gray both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; one sister, Michelle Victorian of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
