Van McDowell Jenkins, Sr., 49, departed this life on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Houston, TX.  He was born May 17, 1975, to Richard K. Guillory and Valda Fay Jenkins in Orange, TX.  He loved drawing and singing since he was a kid.  He graduated from West Orange-Stark High School in Orange, TX and attended Lamar University-Orange and Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Valda Fay Jenkins; one son, Van M. "Bug" Jenkins, Jr.; grandparents, Rev. C.M. and Theresa Jenkins and one brother, Roscoe Guillory.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Richard Guillory of Austin, TX; his children, Raya J. Jenkins, Sydneii D. Jenkins and Trenton R. Jenkins; one sister, Rebecca Guillory; one brother, Richard Guillory; friend and caregiver, Naketra Richard and a host of friends, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.

A Memorial Service and Reflection of his life will be held on Saturday, December 21, at Salem United Methodist Church in Orange, Texas, at 2pm.
