Van Glen Ned , 64, departed this life on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on January 9, 1953, to Houston Ned and Willie Mae Ryans in Lake Charles, LA. He worked at the Port of Lake Charles until his retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary LaDay Ned; his children, Van Ned, Jr. and Sedrick Ned of Westlake, LA, Derrick Ned of Jennings, LA, Tonya Ned, Joshua Ned and Vanessa Ned all of Lake Charles, LA and Tavaras (Christine) Ned of Spring, TX; one brother, Joe (Savannah) Ryans of Lake Charles, LA; 28 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Ned and Willie Mae Ryans; one brother, Von G. Ned and one sister, Sylvia Kaye Stanek.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church, 821 Sampson Street, Westlake, LA , Rev. Theron Jackson, officiating. Burial will be held at Perkins Cemetery, 1100 McKinley Street, Westlake, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
