Velma Marie Carter departed this life at the age of 88 in her home. She was born on Aug. 20, 1926, to the late Armond and Viola Boling in Elton, La. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Aaron and Kevin Carter of Lake Charles, La., and Wardell Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Jennifer and Ianna Carter of Elton, La. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Carter; three sons, Terry, Anthony, and Andrew Carter; and her parents, Armond and Viola Boling. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elton, La., with funeral service following at 11 a.m. in the church.
