On Saturday, the 16th day of April 2022, Verlicer Simon Mills departed this life at the age of 60 in Lake Charles, LA, while visiting for the holidays. She was born on December 14, 1961, to the late Clifton James Simon, Sr. and Dorothy Simon. She worked as a switchboard operator at Moss Regional Hospital.

She leaves to mourn her daughters, Daphne Renee Simon of Houston, TX, Dymphna Roque Simon and Terry Phillips Jr. of Houston, TX, Daneisha Ronee Mills and Leonard Richardson of Houston, TX, and an honorary daughter, LaKandis Stubin of Houston, TX; her siblings and spouses, Velma and John Garcia of Houston, TX, Vera Simon of Lake Charles, LA, Mary Simon of Eunice, LA, Veronica Johnson of Houston, TX, Henry Simon Sr. of Lake Charles, LA, Hayward Simon of Baton Rouge, LA, Terry and Harry Simon Sr., of Houston, TX, Vernella and Herbert Simon Sr., of Houston, TX, Priscilla and Clifton James Simon, Jr. of Eunice, LA and Hardney Simon and Gaynell Huntsberry-Simon of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, Braylon Harden, Brandon Harden, and Brycen Harden all of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton James Simon, Sr., and Dorothy Simon; one sister, Virgie Gillis and one brother, Horace Simon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., and a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, 1611 Gerstner Memorial Drive, Lake Charles, LA.
