IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Veronica
Latour
December 29, 1941 – June 6, 2019
On Thursday, June 6, 2019, Veronica Garrick Latour departed this life at the age of 77 in Harbor Hospice. She was born on December 28, 1941 in China, TX to the late Sidney and Virgie Garrick. Her parents soon left China, TX and ultimately made Lake Charles, LA home for Veronica and her three sisters. She received her education at area schools and was a student of Washington High School. Shortly after high school, being a young adult, Veronica moved to Los Angeles, CA where she lived for 30 years and while living in Los Angeles, gave birth to her only child, Sean Cory Randall. When she returned to Lake Charles in 1992, she began working as a caregiver at Above and Beyond, where she beautifully and compassionately cared many years for Constance Paige.
Veronica deeply loved Sean, her son, and was devoted to him. Veronica enjoyed life and lived it fully. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could make anyone laugh at some of the funniest things said. One of her favorite pastimes was playing video poker at the area casinos. As with many people in Veronica's family, she had a nickname and was affectionately called "Nanny" by all her nieces and nephews and their children. Along with her family, her memory wilt live on through some of her closest friends such as Evylone Goodwin, Linda Faye Celestine, Joanne Celestine and many others.
She leaves to mourn, Sean Cory Randall, her only child, of Lake Charles, LA sister, Patricia Garrick Patterson of Lake Charles. LA: niece Dana Williams of Bellflower, CA; niece Sandra Williams-Coleman of Corona, CA; niece Kimberly Garrick of Lake Charles, LA; nephew Gregory Prater of Houston, Tx; nephew David Prater of Houston, TX; nephew Randall Williams Sr. of Riverside, CA; nephew Reginal Davis of Houston. TX ; a number of great nieces, great nephews and a host of double-first cousins (Garrick-Nero family) and friends.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents. Sidney and Virgie Garrick; sister Mary Garrick-Williams; sister Geneva Garrick-Davis and nephew Bryan Keith Garrick.
Message from the family:
- Nanny, we love you always and will miss you immensely. Kiss everyone in Heaven for us and may God's perpetual love shine upon you forever... your work is done, rest peacefully now."
