Vorise Jimmy Edwards , affectionately known as "Jimbo" passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. He was born to the union of Walter Edwards, Sr. and Elouise Hill Edwards on August 26, 1956 in Lake Charles, LA.
Jimmy was a graduate of W.O. Boston High School and served in the United States Army for three years. He was a faithful member of the New Sunlight Baptist Church all his life. He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. V.E. Washington. He was an active member of the Usher's Ministry for many years until his health declined.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne Edwards and Shedrick Edwards.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his precious memories, one daughter, Taylor Lynn Edwards and grandson, Zaiden Edwards; three brothers, Walter Edwards, Sr. and Larry Edwards of Lake Charles, LA, Ed Edwards (Esther) of Houston, TX; seven sisters, Shirley Taylor, Ludella Cannon (Solomon), Linda Edwards (Roy), Jackie Moore (Charles), and Debbie Pappillion (Wayne) all of Lake Charles, LA, Barbara Howard of Long Beach, CA, and Odessa Edwards of Baton Rouge, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at New Sunlight Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
