Wanda Lee Guidroz Johnson , 80, departed this life peacefully on Saturday , June 16, 2018, at home in Lake Charles, LA. She was born March 23, 1938, to the late Leotha and Wallace Guidroz in New Orleans, LA, raised in Lockport, LA , and lived her adult life in Lake Charles, LA.
She was a very compassionate woman who loved her family and never met a stranger. She was employed at Moss regional charity hospital as a CNA where she retired. Her favorite hobbies were shopping and doing crossword puzzles. She loved going to church and watching Jerry Springer.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons Chris Guidroz and Leon Guidroz both from Lake Charles and one loving daughter-in-law Valencia Guidroz; four sisters, Viola Beard, Amanda Royal and Gloria Harris of Lockport and Elaine Hayes of Baltimore Maryland ; four brothers, Robert Castor of Baton Rouge, Albert Hood, Donald Guidroz and Ben Guidroz all of Lockport; three aunts, Olivia Fisher of Baton Rouge, Beulah Lawson of Lockport and Shirley Robinson of Thibodaux; three uncles, Royal Dorsey of California , Lezeme Dorsey Jr. and Ernest Dorsey both from Lockport; nine grandchildren, Regina (Cedric) Pittman, Christina Lewis, Santana (Sean) Landry, Alexis Guidroz, Shannon Tucker, Darneshia (Bryan) King, Devin Jones, Brianna Jones, Pernell Gaines; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leotha and Wallace Guidroz; grandparents Dora and Lezeme Dorsey; her husband, Jerry Johnson; one brother, Ernest Royal; one aunt, Martha Saucesberry and one uncle, Leonard Dorsey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, Pastor Abby Monroe, officiating. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
