Wilbert "Bruce" Broussard was born on October 12, 1935, in Belview, LA, to the late Leona Jolivet and Wilford Broussard. Bruce lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a Masonry Contractor. His hobby was horses and he was "Trail Boss" for his local group. He attended Sacred Heart High School and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his children, Brian Anthony Broussard of Lake Charles, LA, Monica Evens of Houston, TX, Lisha Major of Houston, TX, Wendell Broussard of Lake Charles, LA, Cheryl Williams of Lake Charles, LA and Michael White of California; three brothers, Joseph. M Broussard of Denver, CO, Felix J. Broussard of Lake Charles, LA and Matthew Broussard of Houston, TX; his fiancé, Charlene Johnson; 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. "We will truly miss him."
A mass of Resurrection will be held on January 6, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Father Michael Barras offficating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
