Wilbert Pappion, Sr ., 66, was one of ten children born to John and Ida McCleon Pappion. He was born in Mamou, Louisiana on December 17, 1931. A native of Mamou, he resided in Lake Charles most of his life where he was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a retiree from Firestone Plant.

He victoriously entered eternal rest on Friday, August 28, 1998 in a local hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bertha Goodly Pappion of Lake Charles; three daughters, Shirley Simien of San Antonio, Tx., Glenda Jones of Lafayette, La., and Carolyn Latour of Lake Charles; three sons, Wilbert Pappion, Jr. of New Orleans, La, Ronald R. Pappion of Tampa, Fl. and Berchman J. Pappion, I, of Lake Charles; fourteen grandchildren, David and Daniel Simien, Jonathan, Gregory and Kyle Jones, Brinton Latour, Hannah and Isaac Pappion, Thomas and Madyson Pappion, and LaKena, Raven, Katelyn, and Berchman Pappion II; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Sylema Simien; four sisters, Ruby Durrousseau of Lawtell, La., Pearl Fontenot of Ville Platte, La., Laura Victorian of Oberlin, La. and Cora Simien of Lake Charles; four brothers, Stanley Sr. of Oakdale, La., Floyd Sr. of New Orleans, La., Cornelius of Lake Charles and Joseph R. Pappion of San Bruno, Ca.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 1998, at 10:0 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Father Tim Goodly, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
