Obituary

Wilda Mae Levier Duhon , age 80, of Lake Charles, LA went into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She passed peacefully from this life and went home to be with the Lord after a long, hard-fought battle with numerous health conditions.  Wilda was born on November 24, 1940, in Port Barre, Louisiana to the late Archonge and Rose Levier.

Wilda had a close relationship with her children and family. She was affectionately known as "Nute" and "Big MaMa" to her grandchildren, family, and friends. Throughout her life, her family could depend on her for strength, comfort, and any assistance when needed.  Her favorite pastime was watching old western movies and visiting with her neighbors and friends.

Wilda had been a life-long caregiver to others and her family. For many years, she worked as a nursing aide lovingly caring for the elderly. She was also a devoted caretaker of her great-grandson from infancy to a few years before God called him to be one of his special angels.

Wilda leaves to mourn her passing her children James Edward Chatman (Adrienne) of Kansas City, Kansas, Peter  Adams (Angela) of Lake Charles, Barbara Ann Gatson (Sylvester), Carolyn Ann Lazar (Herman) of Lake Charles, Marie Levier of Lancaster, Texas, Jamie Chatman of Lake Charles, Brenda Faye Cameron (Winfred) of Marietta, Georgia and Revina Amos (Gary) of Carencro, Louisiana. Her legacy will continue through her 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
