Wilfred Clophus, Sr., 65, departed this life on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born November 5, 1955, to Johnny Clophus and Viola Freeman Clophus in Sulphur, LA. He worked at Alcoa Primary Metals until his retirement in 2016. He was a lifelong coach and mentor to countless numbers of youth in the Lake Area.
He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Bishop Johnny (Georgia) Clophus, Sr.; three sons, Wilfred (Tiffany) Clophus, Elridge (Tatiana) Clophus and Phillip (Lydia) Clophus; his siblings, Johnny (Bonnie Mae) Clophus, Jr., Herbert (Veronica) Clophus, Charles (Jeanell) Clophus, Mary (Robert) Tucker, Brenda (Leroy) Tademy, Thomas (Vicky) Clophus, and Eugene (Vennosia) Clophus; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Clophus, and his wife, Cynthia Regina Clophus.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Miracle Deliverance Church, 3940 E. Burton Street, Sulphur, LA. Burial will follow in Miracle Deliverance Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
